Fresh Start Scholarship Program

You can do a lot with a little help!

Keyin College is pleased to introduce the Fresh Start Scholarship Program in support of displaced Ukrainians and other newcomers impacted by the war on Ukraine who wish to pursue an education and life in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The scholarship will provide 60 full-time, tuition-free, post-secondary placements, with the application and intake process starting May 2022 and continuing in January, May, and September of 2023. Through the program, there will be 20 placements available in each of the following program areas:

Academic Requirements

Completion of high school education is a requirement for the program; however, additional supports such as English as a Second Language and high school equivalency upgrading will be available for interested applicants who may need it.

Supplementary Training and Support Available to Program Participants

Students enrolled in this scholarship program will also have access to three supplementary programs to assist them as they adjust to life in Newfoundland and Labrador. Programs on mental health and wellness, financial literacy, and digital literacy will be offered, at no cost, through the college and will be delivered in partnership with LifeWorks, Enriched Academy, and Brilliant Labs, respectively. In addition, school-aged children of parents enrolled in Keyin College through the Fresh Start Scholarship Program, will have access to the college’s makerspace for workshops delivered by Brilliant Labs.
